Raptor 300mp water pump issue
So I am at a loss at this point. I can't seem to get my water pump to quit running. It won't build up enough pressure and it's always like it's got air in the lines.
It will prime up on city water and have no issues or leaks
I replaced the water pump as well thinking the diaphragm could be bad
Hoses look good and no leaks.
Connections seem to all be tight
I can't find a leak anywhere on it. I don't know which way to look next. I put about 50 gallons of water in the fresh tank
It will start to prime (hear pump change sounds). But you can always hear air going thru pump
Any thoughts?

If your sure ALL the air has been purged from the entire system including the water heater, it's time to look at the low point drains to make sure they are not open/leaking.
After that you will have to look at all the connections at the sinks, shower and toilet.
Are you POSITIVE the winterizing valve is closed?

Yes winterize valve is shut
No leaks under sinks
Toilet line good and tight
Low point drains are closed. I actually opened to relive pressure to change water pump.
Water heater is full and is fine on city water
When it was all purged on city water. Pump was off like normal. Turned off city water pump stayed off. Turn on sink. Pump came on and never shut back off again along with loss of pressure

I checked every connection I could see/feel on the water lines. Even changed some of the hoses to make sure they had a good connection.

Oh and when winterizing. The pump builds up pressure just fine and turns off

Open a tap down stream to allow the air to get out of the system.

There should be an Allen screw on the head for fine tuning the pressure needed to shut the pump off. Not common but I have had the odd pump need "tuning" right out of the box.

Checked hot water tank. And winter valve. Just keeps running and can see air bubbles in lines.

Air bubbles in line INTO or OUT of the pump?

It's hard to trace which one it is. I did switch the hoses to see if it made a difference and it did not

Ok. Is there a way for you to make a hose long enough to attach it to the IN side of the pump. Put the other end in a 5 gallon bucket of water. Turn pump on and if it pressurizes then your issue is on the suction side. If it doesn't shut off then either the pump is bad or you have a leak somewhere.

Check your city water/tank fill valve. Being in the Fill position will cause this. Also, that valve may not seat completely all the times, try moving it back and forth several times.

So I finally found the culpret. I went to the local hardware store and made up a plug that will go into the end of a female garden house. I screwed this into the winterizing connection on the camper and everything primed up perfectly. Now I just gotta replace that connection as I presume there is a check valve in there that is leaking. I'm sure I will have to order it. But you can be assured that I will keep that little plug in case of emergencies

I have a plug for the city water inlet. After one time having the check valve fail in the middle of the night and having the pump pump 80 gallons of water out the inlet and into the basement I am never without it. Glad you found your problem. Take the screen out and try jiggling the check valve, sometimes they just get stuck a little.

Looks like another reason to use a water softener...
