my electrical additions on 246rbs

first thing, week after i got it, added a elect. fireplace in TV console, used the cabinet doors on ends of base storage under dinning seat, next added an emergency switch to power all exterior lights to blink if help is needed put switch on right side of bed and got power from light in basement, next installed rear view camera on linc. plate and run extension cable to front of trailer for transmitter so no connection needed when i attach trailer, i also have a camera under trailer to monitor trailer tires both activate with lights on, speaking of lights i always run with at least parking lights on and during the daytime the trailer turn singles must be hard to see, i notice if i try to move over folks must not be seeing my signals so next i added a second pair of turn signals with no tail light illumination so those fools can see what i'm trying to do, next was a hard wired surge protector into my panel box cost $55.00 e-bay syc120/t2 works good, next on the end of the entertainment center so they can be seen as soon as you walk in the door also from e-bay a 120 volt and a 12 volt digital volt meters connected the 120v to back of receptacle TV plugs into and 12v to back of 12volt supply for antenna booster, less than 10 bucks. every time i return home from a trip i end up doing some ad on. love my toys, life is so good. happy camping all

As far as the turn signals are concerned, don't think that it's a case of they don't see them, they just don't want you if front of them. I've been half way over into the passing lane and had an idiot pass me on the shoulder. Ever notice how many people will pass you then slow down? Keep up the mods, they're always fun and makes the rig your's.

pic. #1 is addition of turn/stop light i wired the tail and turn together to get a brighter light.
pic.#2 is 120v and 12v meters looking you straight in the face when you enter.
pic. #3 is the fireplace purchased from Big Lots on line, only one i could fine narrow enough (depth wise) to fit, works good except no thermostat.
pic.#4 is the surge protector, i ran the hot wire to the breaker for the water heater, that way if it gets knocked off when i'm not in it will reset, wont lose power. pic#5 is when i installed the fire place i had removed two doors and put them at end of base unit under settee

Cool on the 120v meter...

The only thing you (or readers) should be aware of on the 12v meter is that when connected to shore power, the meter is not accurate. It will always report what ever is being SENT to the battery - i.e. the charge voltage.

The only time it will be accurate is about 1-2 hours after all 12v items are off and there is no source of charge... So basically just the battery with no draw after it has had a chance to "settle down" after any charging or draws... Same can be said for the factory provided test panel.

you are correct, but now i know my converter is working and or connected to my tow vehicle OK with just a quick glance at the meter. PS just returned from a short trip and 120v meter showed me i only had 108v at cg i was at, at home i usually have 122v or better. that meter was a good investment i think e-bay $5.60 including shipping, slow boat from china 30 days, worked for me though.
