New Tow Vehicle on Order

My tow vehicle has been my 2014 6 cylinder Durango, which was adequate, but I was very weight conscious. Never had any white knuckle trips or any sway issues with the Equalizer hitch. But when I had to cut a piece of sheetrock in Lowes' parking lot to get it in, it started me thinking. And the DW has this philosophy that in the "circle of life" at age 62, I am at about 9:00. So with her approval, I ordered a 2017 Ford XlT, 3.5L Ecoboost, 10 speed transmission,SCREW, 6.5 Bed, 4x4, 302a package, with the Max tow package, off-road package, tow mirrors, voice navigation, sport package, and a few other options. Yes, leather would have been nice and 360 degree cameras, etc., but I wanted to cap my purchase at $50,000 including tax. Tow capacity is 11,800 pounds and payload capacity as built is 1780, plenty for my trailer. When it is delivered in April, I will post a picture. If anyone has the Ford with the Pro Trailer Backup Assist and actually uses it, please let me know how it works. It looks interesting in some online videos. We will keep the Durango, since that is the DW's vehicle and the truck will become my daily driver. I am retired and do not drive many miles on a daily basis and will keep my 2004 Mercury Marquis.

Congrats! Those new Ford F150s are quite impressive, especially with the max tow package.
