Some manufacturers are starting to key everything alike at the factory.

Leave it to Keystone to try and be different and screw up a good thing.
We have keys in several places in the truck and in the trailer and outside of both of them also.
We learned the hard way.
Fortunately it was just an overnight and short in length trip.
Apparently the Raptors have a "European" style handle. We have not been able to find the keyless entry to fit either. And my hubby is constantly complaining about how cheap the key is and is afraid he is going to break it off in the lock. If one can be found, please please let me know

I have a touch pad/remote keyless entry and we love it. No longer have to carry keys around that we might lose somewhere. It also came with much improved locks and manual keys if we need them.

Be sure it's in an unlocked compartment. There are plenty of good hiding spots outside.
If locked inside it wouldn't be much of spare if you need a key to get to it.
I kept a set hidden outside, a set in the truck, set in my pocket & one in the wife's purse.

Thought I would ask here. Does anyone know where I can order a new "shorty" cam lock (the one that is 5/8" long) and have it keyed the same as the a given RVLock key? RVLock will send keyed alike cam locks but only carry the 1.125" long locks.

thanks

I believe he’s wanting short cylinder length, not the locking “tab”.

Oh, ok. Perhaps a locksmith would have or be able to get one?

Or, any "reputable RV parts counter" would likely have them in stock or be able to order the "one he needs" or "replacements, all keyed alike" to replace all of the lock cylinders on his trailer so it's a "one key fits all" retrofit.

Seems that many people want to avoid the dealership's parts department, or the parts department at the dealership near their home. On parts that are typically "RV related" like door locks, awning parts, front jacks/landing gear, etc, it's often much faster and often much cheaper to just head down the street and pick up the part. That almost always avoids the "Amazon guessing game" or the "EBay no returns policy".... YMMV

I can definitely say a dealer saved my butt this summer. Our Paradigm does not have a RVLock on it like we had put on the Cougar. Sadly, it doesn’t fit on this door the way it should. So… we head down to the camper on its seasonal site, 3 hours south of home, for the weekend. Get down there to realize both of us forgot the camper keys. After a few choice words were said, we headed back north to either get keys or not go camping for the weekend. As we headed through Rochester, I had the idea to call a dealer in that town to ask if there was any way to beg/ borrow/ buy a key to get into the camper. Told him the camper had the deadbolt locked, so master wouldn’t work. He said if I could get him the number off the key itself, they may have it and they could sell me the key. I called home real quick, asked our daughter to get me numbers off the deadbolt key and the basement lock keys. Called dealer back, and luckily they had both. I walked in to the dealer at 5:05 pm on a Friday and told him “you know you could have charged me $100/ key and I would have paid it”, and thanked him for staying a little late waiting for me. He laughed and told me the total would be $24. I feel like I got off cheap. So, turned a long trip back home into a shorter return trip to the camper. And had a great weekend that I had been looking forward too.

Also, that set of keys went into a lockbox and left on our site. It only took me once to learn this.

RV Lock V4 FTW!!!

Got rid of the crappy handle that came with the trailer. The cheapo keys would always bind/stick and be a PITA to unlock every time.

This new lock is pretty solid with the exception of the inside deadbolt latch - oddly enough, it's garbage plastic that is in stark contrast to the solid (pot) metal latch on the OEM handle. Ah well, guess you can't have it all... but still - NO "RAGRETS"!

Here's what I bought a couple of years ago and I've been very happy with it.

I put a digital lock on my door. I have the key fob, a key, or the combination to get in. I put the extra fob and key in my truck. The truck also has a combination lock on the door. I know….it’s probably overkill but at least I can get in. I also put the combinations in my password manager app.
