Hello from NE Oklahoma

Thanks for letting us join your party.

We are a couple of retired Okies excited about starting a new camping chapter in our life. We have camped off and on over the years. Started back in the 70's with an "old" Dodge window van conversion. We advanced to a "well used" 17' motorhome. Mid 80's we moved to one of our great Oklahoma lakes and sold the motorhome and didn't do any camping. Come the mid 90's, we moved from the lake, back a little closer to town because the commute to work (1-1/2hrs one way) got to be too much. Bought a 28' 5th wheel and started camping again. Spring of 2010, we retired, sold the 5th wheel and moved back to the lake. No camping. Bought a Jayco series 1007 Pop Up camper and started camping again. The wife missed having her own bathroom Put PopUp up for sale. January 25, 2017, bought a 2006 Keystone Outback M-21RS . Heading to south Texas next month for as long as we can put with it (2-4 weeks) Can you tell we are excited?

Retired? 2-4 weeks? Shoot, make it 8-12 weeks and have fun! You're retired. It took us a while to understand that you just shut things down at the properties and GO!

The trip was a great success! Spent 4 weeks at Paradise RV Resort in Harlingen, TX. Zero problems. Other than buying a tank of bad gas Took a good week to get the truck straightened out. 3 bottles of HEAT treatment, new fuel filter & cleaned the throttle body. The new trailer was super. Everything worked as it's supposed to. Bought 4" dense foam mattress and slept like babies. Met up with our neighbors from across the street. They have been going to this resort for 10 years and had been after us to come down. Made several new friends and will go back next year, but for 2 months. Took 3 trips into Mexico (Progresso) and 2 trips to South Padre Island. I think we are HOOKED!!
