Smile Hello from RI

Picking up our new Montana High Country this Friday. We're currently in a 2006 Winnebago Journey that we found was to small for us. The new 5th Wheel is humongous compared to it and we can't wait to get it.

We're going to drive to the dealer Friday and swap our stuff into the new RV, stay the night and they will deliver and set it up on Saturday morning. I don't plan to by a truck until the spring since we're not going anywhere.

I can't even count the number of RVs that we've owned through the years, everything from pop-ups to class As. We just went full time recently and that's when we decided we needed something better. I thing this will be the end of our RV purchasing for a while.

I just came to this site and haven't even read anything yet. I hope it's as friendly as the other one I'm on.

Re: Hello from RI

Welcome to the forum from Southern MD. We hope to start full timing in a few years and are trying to decide between a 5er or Class A. Other than the size what else drove the decision to go to a 5er. Thanks in advance.

Re: Hello from RI

Mostly because I couldn't afford a class A in the size I wanted with 4 slide outs and floorplan to suit my wife. Our existing Journey was beautiful and great to drive but not much to live in. Another factor is that I won't retire for a few years so the engine and tranny would just be wasted on me. Now I have something I can do all the repairs myself!

Welcome from Stonington, CT, neighbor!

Great bunch of people, and best knowledge, and advice here.

Enjoy your new rig. There's lots of great camping within an hours drive from almost anywhere in RI.

Good Luck,

Re: Hello from RI

Welcome from RI! Enjoy your new rig. We would like to also retire, get a fifth wheel, and go full-time someday! Where are you going to park the rig for the winter?
