Cougar 30RLS fresh water tank drain?
Hi there.
I recently got a 2021 30RLS and am unable to locate the fresh water tank drain valve.
I found the low-point valves but I was expecting a separate, dedicated valve for the fresh water tank
I feel like I must be missing something obvious but really can't find where it might be.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

The drain valve is commonly just a capped plastic tube that sticks out below the covering on the bottom of your unit. It would be separate from your low-point valves. Mine protrudes about 3/4" from the bottom cover.

Thanks! I did see a short tube like that protruding from that area but there is no cap on it at all and I didn't see any sort of valve. That basically had me stumped.

cap
The cap should be in one of your kitchen drawers or somewhere in the camper. The first time we camped using the freshwater storage tank I filled the tank at the water station and proceeded to my campsite. I pressed the tank level button a few minutes later and it showed my tank was almost empty. I looked underneath and saw water draining out. I had to locate the cap and go back and fill the tank a second time. We also had a little trouble finding the hot water tank bypass valve which was closed and we couldn't fill the hot water tank. that was behind a wooden panel that had to be removed revealing a hole in another panel that provided a reach through.

Excellent info and thanks for sharing your less-than-positive experience to help me out!

Hi Scott.
I have 2020, 30RLS, and my freshwater drain valve is located drivers side at the rear of unit. Mine is just forward of the sewer hose storage tube.

Thanks for that info. I'll certainly check out that area next time I head over to storage. I definitely wasn't looking there for it!

The valve on my 2022 30RLS is located in the front camp side.

Thanks for the info. It seems like they put these all over the place! So 2020 and 2022 are apparently in diagonally opposite corners. Guess I'll look dead center for my 2021. Ha.
Thanks for everybody's feedback on this. Who'd thought it could be such a puzzle!

Success! Thanks for the insight. After *really* thinking about it, I should have figured that out. In other words, the drain is pretty much below the fresh water inlet. I had incorrectly assumed that my fresh water tank was in the front, but upon stopping to think about it, I now realize it's in the rear of the unit. Thanks for your reply, which actually caused me to think through things.

On our 2021 27SABWE, my fresh water drain is under and inboard of the fresh water fill location. However, the drain valve is similar in appearance to the waste tanks drain valve except it is white and a bit smaller.
