Jim Thorpe, PA Camping
We're in Palmerton, PA camping....just outside of Jim Thorpe, PA.
Staying at Don Laine's Campground. Like the sites but, to be frank, the sites under the trees are in a rough area for towing a trailer. Ruts across the roads. Steep inclines....surely my truck would spin its rear wheels in the loose gravel.
The overflow area is nice but a bit odd. Sites are in pairs. Utilities are shared. For example, two trailers would share the same pad. Doors would face each other. Very strange. We are actually using two sites....no one next to us fortunately.
For some this would work well. There are some families/friends just a few sites away....and they seem to benefit from the shared center area.
Spent the afternoon (3 1/2 hrs or so) biking the rails to trailsbike trail along the Lehigh River. Fun!! About 25 miles round trip. Well worth it!!
I would stay here again but would try to get site B17 OR stay in the overflow area but be sure no one is coming in next to us.
