Cougar 29MBS 2020: How to use the ext. propane connection?

Hey folks,

Im in my 2020 29MBS Cougar since a couple of weeks and would like to use the external propane connector for my Propane Gas grill.
However, Im really gettign frustrated since Im unable to get the right connection to the grill.

The grill has a male 3/8 flare fitting (after removing the pressure regulator). I got a 3/8in propane hose at lowes. But I have no idea how to fit that to the RV.
Its a quick disconnect located right under teh storage compartment at the passenger side. I tried the "common" 1/4in but it was too small and it seems liek its either a 3/8 or 1/2in quick-disconnect. but where can I get that size adapter to the 3/8in flare OR a hose with the right quick disconnect on one side and the 3/8 flare on the other?

Ideally >10 ft length somewhere for pick up since we are on the road.

Try your local propane distributor, some can custom make whatever you're wanting/needing. Or a hydraulic shop.

If your propane gas grill has it's own regulator, it will not work with that connection. Why? Because that connection already passes AFTER the regulator in your camper. The regulator in your camper is a low-pressure regulator. The pressure is probably too low for your gas grill, even if you by-pass the regulator built on your gas grill.

There are actually very few outside camp stoves or grills that actually work on that trailer connection because of the low pressure produced from the camper regulator. Coleman camp stoves absolutely do not work. I understand Blackstone does.

If your grill has it's own regulator, you are better off getting a T connection that fits between the propane tank and the hose connected to the propane tank on the camper. This puts the full propane tank pressure before the camper regulator. Then run a complete separate hose from the T to the BBQ grill.

This is how most people work around that worthless quick connect gas connection.

Nevermind Folks. I was just too stupid to use the quick disconnect properly. The 1/4in worked just fine eventually! :-)

Just a guess, did you forget to turn the lever?
