That's what I keep saying about filling my tanks, I fill once in a 1000 miles, it wouldn't be any different if I had a 25 gallon tank except how many times I had to stop. A hundred gallons is a 100 gallons

Exactly, the bigger tank and increased fuel mileage my new one gets I can live with the tank size.

Got an email from Ford a couple of hours ago. My F450 is supposed to be built the week of 8/16. 48 gallon tank.

Awesome [emoji1303]. Do you have the 8ft bed or the 6.5ft. If I remember correctly the 48 gallon tank came with the 8 ft bed on my truck (F350 SRW) but not sure about the F450. Thats gunna be a towing beast!!

One of the reasons I chose my truck last December is because of the 50 gallon tank….I asked the salesgirl who orders the trucks and she said they have one guy that does all the ordering….no rhyme or reason that I could see…just a hodgepodge of options…I told her why in the world wouldn’t they just order the 50 gallon tank on every 1 ton dually if they are already ordering the fifth wheel prep..some had the prep but small tank..some had the big tank but no fifth wheel prep…made no sense …it’s only a few hundred dollar option from the factory…it seemed like they had a guy that drove a small car and no truck experience ordering everything.

From what I saw when I ordered my truck you didn’t have a choice on the tank size. If you got the 6.5ft bed you get the 30 something size tank and the 8ft bed got the 48 gallon tank. I didn’t ask my dealer when he ordered it if I could have gotten a bigger tank though.

I think your right about that with the rams also. That’s what I have …but it is an option with the 8 ft bed on ram trucks. ..that’s what I don’t like. A dually 8 ft bed should have a 50 gallon tank IMO

The 450 is only available with an 8ft bed.

10-4 I didn’t know that. What gears you went with? I went with the 3:31’s again with this truck. My 2011 had 3:31 and towed my camper well so I figured this one would too. I use it way more not towing than towing.

Came down from Pikes Peak last week (not towing) but the 10 spd tranny and the exhaust brake made it easy. I set the cruise at 25 mph, put the exhaust brake on and let it do it’s thing. I only had to brake 2-3 times at a sharp switchbacks but otherwise it worked perfect. At the ranger brake check my brakes were 116°, guy in front of me was 212° from what I could hear.

4:30 is the only option. My commute is 2.3 miles. I got the truck because we like to take long (mileage and time) trips and wanted to feel more comfortable towing. According to ford it should look similar to this:

10-4 We may take some longer trips with the new camper but it’s not all that heavy so it won’t be an issue.

Thats a beautiful truck, what color blue is that.

It is called Atlas Blue - used on Explorers for a couple of years but new for the Super Duty.

I hate gas stations that preauth $100. I needed 45 gallons and had to run the card twice.
