Stove 'level'

Hi all

Have a 5th Wheel Cougar 359MBI

checked level of entire unit with 4' and it is level (auto leveled) but verified with bubble.

But the kitchen slide with stove/fridge/FP is HIGH on the in-board side BOTH retracted and extended.
Such that the eggs in the pan on the stove slide to rear (away from operator) of pan.

Mini bubble level confirms the counter and stove grates are high (1/4") on in board side.

I can list the top with grates up in back about 1/4'' to level stove grates...but that leaves a diminishing side gap on stove to counter top gap.

What can I do to adjust entire slide or level entire stove ???

looking for ideas

I'm sure there has to be an adjustment somewhere but that is way outside of my pay grade... Maybe Chuckster or another more knowledgeable guy can tell you what to do to level it out..they probably know where to get a manual for your rig that would give you instruction... Sorry I can't help you..

What type of slide? You can adjust the “height” of the outboard side, but you have to keep the seals intact.

where can I get a pic of the label

I know the top interior has a cable pully system

then outside I believe a cable runs horizontal near the lower portion of the slide

I can get pics of that too
if useful

I haven’t had to “level” a cable slide, so I’ll be watching this thread.

I figured you'd be the go to guy on this one... Didn't mean to throw ya under the bus... I didn't think that cable types are adjustable other than cable tensions... but I really don't know that for a fact.. but I guess if one side is loose and the other tight it might tilt or sag a bit??

No harm, no foul. I’m thinking cable tension is key once you verify the box and hole are square.

Taking the grates and top of stove top ad if you needed to get under burners to clean some badly boil over liquid.

You’ll probably see where the unit is secured into the space.
This is where you can put washers to shim it up in front or rear.

Rather than mess with the slide I would consider shimming the countertop up on that edge.

My stove is not in a slide, so it sits ok. But my refrigerator and dining table is the slide on the opposite side, and it slopes downward. I studied it out from one end to the the other and everything is square, inside and out .... except the floor. I finally came to the conclusion the floor itself on the slide is constructed with a slope, probably so it rides correct when extracting and retracting. So, I did not mess with any alignment.

It's possible the floor of your slide is built on a slope too. Use a carpenter's square and a carpenter's level and measure the slide extended and retracted to see if it's square and level against the walls. I bet yours has a sloping floor, so attempting to align the floor level will cause the rest of the slide to be out of whack and the seals won't seal.

You did the right thing by shemming up the oven and did not attempt any adjustments on the actual slide.

Your cables are suppose to be just slightly loose (like you should be able to move them about half an inch) on the outside cable when the slide is out, and on the inside cables when the slide is in. Any tighter and you run the risk of snapping a cable.
