Vacuum Breaker / Check Valve failure?

Second time using my Black Tank flush... and this time I found water leaking out of the B&B Model 571 Vacuum Breaker/Check Valve device while I was pushing water through the hose connected to the Flush inlet. The device is located under my bathroom sink. The flush system was making a noise like it was struggling to function, and after a moment it would seem to ease up and I could see it was clearly still flushing water through the Black tank. Yet the device continued to leak quite a bit of water.

Is this Valve device popular to fail? And/or is there something else going on that I'm not seeing?

This is on a Outback 330RL TT.

Yes... it isn't that it might fail... it is when will it fail

Many of us replace it with this... and use a hose bib anti-siphon fitting that screws onto the water hose. https://www.lowes.com/pd/AMERICAN-VA...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

Perfect. I'll try that. Any idea where I can get the white hose, used in your photo there? I have a Lowes near me so I can get that anti-siphon fitting (and hose?) there.
Thanks!

Lowes should have the 1/2" pex in red, white & blue, all the fittings & the crimp fittings with the tool to crimp them. Which BTW is a good tool along with an assortment of fittings to carry with you in a rv of any make, model or brand.

Thanks! You're correct, I found all parts at Lowes. I now have a weekend project ahead of me now.

Here is what I did. Very easy to do and no valve to fail...

For the first year mine would “buzz” when I used it, but figured at least I knew it was working and it had no issues. Then one trip, no noise, no water coming out of the tank. Took the valve out, freed up the little ball inside, reassembled it and tried it again and it leaked all over inside the vanity. I have a PEX set so I cut out the fittings and installed two elbows as others have done and installed a vacuum breaker on the hose end and have not had an issue since.

I did what Javi mentioned above. A little tough to get the crimping tool into tight spaces but I made it happen. It works and the anti-siphon on the hose is functional too.
