First Time RV Camper

Hello everybody! Wife and I are first time RV owner ever. We picked up our 2021 Cougar 25RES in March and we have been to 3 campsites already, mainly military campgrounds. We are loving the new lifestyle although it is a very hard learning curve for us. We (I) made several newbie mistakes already but so far been lucky with no injuries and breakdown but happy to report that all the initial shakedown camping trips have been successful with all system check with RV and my truck.

Welcome aboard! We are all newbies at one point, although for some of us that was 40 years ago, or more. Even so, I for one, continue to learn from others on this forum. Don't hesitate to ask questions...someone will have the answer.

The forum software only recognizes a picture in a landscape orientation. posting a picture in portriate will cause it to be rotated to landscape. You can open the image in paint or other picture editing software and rotate it and save it. Then upload the picture again. Hope that's understandable.

The problem is that rotating the photo doesn't change the aspect ratio, and the forum software just rotates it to please itself again. You either have to crop it to landscape or add an "ear" to one side.

Me, I just have a "frame" I use to force the issue, and stick the portrait photo inside it.

Hello and welcome to the forum, glad to have you along!

Congrats on the new Cougar, and don't worry about making mistakes. Many members have (and continue) to make mistakes! Disclaimer: Me too!

Enjoy your new 5er, and stay safe!

Ahhhh! Muy bueno! I knew one of the smarter folks (or younger) would remember the reason for the sideways pics that always seem to show up. Gracias Senor FB!

We bought a 2019 Cougar 25res last year. It was like brand new inside. Plastic was still on the kitchen sink, the outdoor grill, labels in the bathroom. I think it must have been used as a place to sleep. I did have to adjust latches and do some maintenance on other parts, but we really like our 5er.
