Power went out, then back on...

Strange. Watching TV and it goes off. Also light over stove (same side). Checked a couple of outlets on that side and no power. Hmmm. Then there’s a beep and everything is back to normal. Not running microwave or anything that really sucks power. Ok all or two or three minutes. So we’re ok now but any ideas what happened?

The obvious answer is a short power utility blackout. Any reason it couldn't be?

Sounds like a power outage to me too.

Sounds like an outage. If you have an EMS there is typically a 2 min delay before it allows power to restore in order to protect the air conditioner compressor and allow time for the electricity to stabilize.

But other power stayed on. It was internally localized to one side of the trailer.

Other power as in other 120vac items or just "electrical" stuff. All the 12vdc would be fine in a power outage. Also, are you 30 or 50A?

I had given some thought to maybe just one leg of a 50 amp service also.

We are 50 amp. Other electrical stayed on, such the lite above the island. One leg going out sounds like an appropriate idea, have you ever seen that happen? And would it cut out just 1/2 of the trailer? So strange. But I think I figured out that the beep we heard may have been the microwave power coming back on?

More...looked our EMS. Has a PE of 7, over 64hz. So that probably cut off but overhead light did not flicker. Does that make sense?

Generally speaking a 50 amp system is split with 1 a/c and 1/2 the circuits on each leg.

Yes, I've had it happen more than once over the years since I started using EMS on my trailers.

The BEEP could have been the microwave or it well could have been the EMS itself...

Overhead lights are 12 volts so they're on the battery.

If your EMS is a Progressive Industries then the PE code 7 means previous error code 7 which is the line cycles over 69. https://www.manualsdir.com/manuals/7...0c.html?page=5

Tell the cg to contact the utility company as that should not happen The cycles should not deviate from 60 hz more than 1 or 2 has at the most. It sounds like your EMS shut down to protect the trailer.

Yep, that’s the one we have. Great unit. First time we needed it!
