364BHL Dual Batteries

Hi all, Our new 364BHL came factory equipped with two battery boxes.
I assume its maybe because its solar prepped? My question is would I benefit from adding a second 12 volt battery? Let me state up front , We never boon dock. We are more of a non primitive family we always have at least 30 amp power though I am going to have to be pickier as this one has 2 A/C's.And I usually plug in when its home. So I just wanted to see if there was any advantage based on our using habits. Adding solar at this time isn't planned
Thanks in advance.

IMHO, a single battery to operate the 12v necessities prior to hooking up to shore power should be adequate. Two batteries are not necessarily needed for solar but I would recommend two if you ever change your mind about dry camping and using solar to charge the batteries.

If you never boondock, and you don't have a residential fridge, then multiple batteries are a waste of money. The only time the battery will be "needed" is to provide the extra amperage needed to operate the slides and landing gear/levelers and that is for a short time. The battery and truck charging system should maintain the 12vdc needs to keep the fridge and any other low voltage needs going down the highway.

That's kind of what I thought. I'm thinking I will remove and store it for now and gain the space.

Thanks for the feed back
