anderson levelers

I have been trying to find something a little easier than trying to figure out if the level blocks are the right height during a rain storm. I came across the anderson levelers and they look sweet. has anyone tried them? Do they work on a mountaineer dual axle? Are there some cons?

Anderson Levelers

Hi:

We have a double axle 34' trailer. I think the Andersons are the best thing since sliced bread. I put a level (bubble) on the front of the camper (where I can see it in my truck's backup camera) - it makes leveling the unit a 1-person job. I'll never go back to boards!!!

I've been using them for a couple of years... They are the best thing I have found. Couldn't be easier, nice and solid. I would highly recommend.!

thanks for your replies. Are your 5ers dual axle and what is your distance between tires?

After reading this thread I may end up getting a pair for my dual axle.

I use the anderson levelers with our TT that has 42 inches between the axles. They are the best RV accessory you can buy IMO.

They work great. They'll adjust about three index marks. I really dislike using boards.

After watching the videos, the wife decided we should, get them. Ordered them on Saturday and were at our doorstep when we got home today. Can't wait for next trip to try them out.

I am going to get some, just waiting for signguy71 to get back to me.
The concept and idea of not using boards or driving up leveling and deciding how many pads to put down in the rain convinced me. I am still wondering if they will fit between my tires on my 5er though

The Andersen levelers come with back chocks that are a curved fit on the backside after you roll up on the main chocks. This chocks both wheels on one side. I also use a Fastway One-step on the opposite side, or just use the Fastway if the trailer doesn't need leveling.

Check the site: www.andersenhitches.com. They have some really good products.

I use X-Chocks. I've used One-Steps in the past with great success. But with this behemoths leveling system(it'll pick the wheels off the ground), One-Steps won't work. So I use the X-Chocks in conjunction with the Andersons.

If it picks the wheels off the ground, how will the X-Chocks work? For either chock system to work, the wheels have to be on the ground. Right?

And if it picks the wheels off the ground, it won't roll, anyway. Not sure I follow.

Smile Fit

Here's the PDF link on how to trim for close axle centers.

I have had 2 sets for the last year & half and wouldn't trade them for a stack of lumber!

If needed, I use the Andersons to get level side to side to begin with. Then let the leveling system do it's thing. Then put the X-Chocks in. The X-Chocks help with some of the motion.

What I should have said was, the leveling system CAN pick the wheels off the ground. It has happened to us before we started using the Andersons. Not a good feeling.

When leveling with these Anderson Levelers, do you back up onto them or pull forward onto them? Obviously you could do either. What is your preference?

Guess I always back on since I usually back into a spot. Although this weekend I pulled into a spot and then backed on them.
I do wish they were wider though. Ground was soft and they sunk in a little. Ive got some of these https://bsrminc.com/hosspad/ to put down first but always seem to forget.
