what keeps this up

During the winter the antenna froze and D tried to crank it up and the crank snapped.
I bought a new one but what keeps the turny thing up?

There should be a spring between the rotator wheel and the crank. Look around underneath the antenna assembly. It should be there somewhere.

Unless maybe you put the spring above the rotator wheel instead of below it?

More info on the spring: if I remember correctly, it's around 3/4 inch diameter and 1" or so long.

SteveS. Howdy;

"but what keeps the turny thing up?"

The wee bitty allan screw (dark spot in the fat part of the "turny thing" in the pix),
"sets" against the shaft and holds the whole mess in it's gravity defying position.

I think I need to send her to TT 1 of 1
If it looks like it'll break it will
D still feels bad about it as the price of the handle was a rip off but it doesn't bother me as these things happen and it's not her fault
