Best route to Bar Harbor from SE PA?

We are headed to Bar Harbor at end of August. Will be towing travel trailer. Whats the best/scenic route?

Will be stopping in Portland airport on the way to pick up our daughter who is flying in frim diwn south to spend the week with us.

Any advice is much appreciated!

Just left the area.
Use highway 1!
You will go thru many small towns with slow speed limits and pedestrians will have the right of way in congested, downtown areas.

From PA I would get to 287 and cross the Hudson on Tappan Zee. From there take 684 up to 84, much nicer than 95. From Sturbridge MA take 90 and connect with 95. Starting in NH pick your spots to detour off onto Rt 1 for the places that interest you. Portsmouth NH is really nice. Leaving Portland use 295 to Brunswick. After Brunswick stick with Rt 1. Along your way Camden Hills SP makes a great stop. Lots to see in the area and the park has electric and water hookups. While at Bar Harbor spend some time at Schoodic Point, very few people do and they miss out on a beautiful area.

Coastal NE is beautiful, enjoy!

With the trailer I always avoid the George Washington and Tappen Zee, I head to Newburgh and cross there. Coming up to the Mass Pike, the best route is to get off at 290 through Worc to 495 north or Mass Pike to 495 north. If you take the pike to 95 north you will be kicking yourself for the rest of the day.. 495 meets up with 95 near NH and take 95 into Maine. You can take 95 right to the airport if you wish or get off on route 1 and take the coastal route through York Wells etc, real nice. After the airport, take 295, past Freeport and LL Bean up to coastal route 1 again and enjoy the ride. Takes awhile but worth it.

Have fun.
