Anyone own a Laredo 302 BH? Bunkhouse questions

Wanting some feedback from owners of a Laredo 302 BH. Looks great online - wandering about quality compared to the High Country 338 DB and Mountaineer 346 we are looking at, and spaciousness. A bit smaller bunkroom for the kids who are growing quickly , will this be something that will last for awhile? Thx!!!

We have had our 346 for a little over a year now and it is great. This is our 3rd bunkhouse 5er and our kids are currently 7 and 9. We had a Jayco that was a similar floorplan to the Laredo. It was fine when the kids were smaller but the small amount of floor space meant that they were in the main living room floor playing when it rained so we traded for a front bunkhouse floorplan. We liked the floor space up front, but, we didn't like the open shower and blocking them in or out of the bunkroom when taking showers. The 338 has a good size bunkroom. We looked at several bunkhouse floor plans last year when we were looking and the 346 was the one that worked best for our needs and wants. We like the amount of kitchen counter space in the 346 and the layout of the kitchen with the peninsula. It directs the kids around you when preparing meals.

rconkin - great response - thank you! It sounds like your second 5er was another one we were looking at - the Laredo 321? Liked the floorplan but the shower seemed to be in an awkward spot and did not love the closet space or lack thereof in the main room. Glad you love your 346 - any major issues? Noticed you have a DRW, my husband has a 2012 Ram 3500 SRW, Mega Cab - so unsure if we can tow it comfortably - max tow weight says 13,300. Thoughts? Also, stable once parked etc? The one we have been inside at the dealership seems to move/wobble a bit more than others? Thanks!!

My DW and I just purchased the 321BH this year and absolutely love it. We liked having the main bed room in back. Kids loved being up high and in front. Plus having the bedroom in the rear made the pin weight a little less, thus allowing for more cargo up front if your worried about weight distribution. The shower Is a little awkward but doable. Normally speaking when I take baths my kids are already outside or are sitting downstairs. Hasn't been a problem yet as too locking them in some where. We just shut the main upstairs door and no one goes up till the person comes down. Though the shower glass is frosted too, so its not like any thing is too be seen any how. All and all love the floor plan.

No major issues. The gas hose to the kitchen slideout kinked and shut off the gas when slide was in, replaced with longer line under warranty. Remote works intermittently when running landing gear up and down but moving to another spot seems to fix that. I believe they no longer come with the remote. BlindGuyNAR actually weighed his and seems like his pin weight was 2600#. Mine fully loaded still does not have the truck on the helper springs. I prefer a dually, but, there are people pulling 5ers of this size and weight with SRW trucks. I'm real picky about level and movement when parked and I would say that this one moves more than our other 5ers. I guess the longer, the more frame flex. I'm going to try a couple of the old fashioned jack stands in front of the axles when we go to Jekyll next month. I plan on installing JT Strongarm stabilizers in the future. As with anything, personal preference is what it comes down to. You have an example above where the open shower concept does not bother them. Good luck on your choice and I hope you have many memorable trips in it with your family.

I suggest for the 346 lbq the steadyfast system is a better choice. With JT's you have to move a gas line on door side and due to rear brace locations and the rear dumps the street side rear is near impossible to install. Steadyfast would have none of those issues. Just my 2 cents.

Hey Quad - thanks for the detailed response! My main concern was actually the lack of a real closet in the master bedroom. Do you feel you have adequate closet and drawer space in your room. Also, if I remember the closet rods seemed high? I only saw it quickly so would love your thoughts!

Thx!

The closet rods are up higher than a standard bedroom closet in your house. But nothing I thought was ridiculous. If your full timing it I could see where closet space would be at a premium in the rear bedroom. But weekends with the occasional week trips I haven't seen it, and don't see it being a problem.
