Door Gas Strut Bracket

One of the door gas strut brackets (the one on the door) on my 5’er is loose, all three screws. I tried using a plastic anchor in the holes, lasted about a week and then one actually popped out and the others are loose again. Has anyone out there had this problem? Are there any good ways to fix this? I appreciate any help I can get for this one!

Get a piece of 1/8 inch aluminum about 3x5 inches. Paint it to match use adhesive and large pop rivets to put it on the door and put your mount on it. Mine has been there 12 years with no problem.
