Slide fuse location

Adam Anderson . I have a 2010 keystone passport ultra light 290 bhs camper. I recently replaced my slide switch with new one. No slide working. I checked my slide motor. It’s good. I looked in fuse block under bunk bed. I pull the fuse out of slide fuse holder no red light I did change both circuit breakers in fro t if tounge of trailer. Where could anymore fuses be for my slide ?

Hi,

I could be wrong but I think the reason you did not have a red light "on" when you pulled the fuse is due to there being no load on that circuit at that time. Try pulling the fuse and then pressing the slide in/out button. Red light should be on.

Please explain how you insured the slide motor is good.

Do you have a volt meter?

Does your RV have a battery disconnect switch and is it on or off?

Do you have 12v at the slide switch?,... at the slide motor?

A couple of questions first. Does everything else that requires 12v dc work? Was the battery replaced or removed lately. The 12v dc items would be lights, bathroom fan, stove hood fan, radio, antenna booster, awning, furnace, and the controls for the water heater, fridge, thermostate for heating and cooling, any power stabilizers ot tongue jack. The reason I ask is that older models used a differnt color codeing for the battery connections. With a black and a white battery cable (vs red and black) the black is + positive and the white is - negative.

If the battery cables are reversed it will blow out the reverse polarity fuses in the power center and nothing 12v dc will work whether or not the unit is plugged into shore power. How did you determin the slide switch was defective or was that a guess?

I have 12 volt at switch but not to motor. As far as I know no battery cutoff.
I have a multimeter
The cables that go to battery are correct. Black to + white to negative

If you have 12v dc at the switch but not the motor then the the wire is broken somewhere. I would take a length of wire and jumper from the switch to the motor to confirm.

You may have a bad ground to the motor are you checking for 12 volts at the switch from the switch terminal to the frame? If you check for 12volts at the motor ..try checking from each wire to the frame if positive isn’t marked. See if you have 12 volts. If your checking with a meter to both wires at the motor and the ground is missing you won’t see 12 volts. Try adding a ground somewhere close to the motor
