Toilet problem
Sorry if this question has been asked and answered before.
We purchased a used Summerland trailer with a Dometic toilet.
There is no lag for filling the bowl with some water before the flush valve opens. Is there an adjustment for this?

If I get your question, you need to lightly step on the lever to run water while keeping the trap door closed.

As skids said, you need to barely push on the toilet pedal so the water comes in but the valve doesn't open. Some give you a pretty nice range to play with, some like my current one give you a tiny fraction of an inch to try to hit or the valve will crack open.

I don't even have a slight push for the water to flow before the valve opens. Have had several RV's before, never this.

I agree with Danny and Skids. But I will say from my experience, having had to replace flush valves, I remember no "adjustments". Not to say there isn't one one your Dometic, but there was not on the ONE that I replaced the valve on. However a new valve MIGHT let some water in before the ball moves, where an old valve might have a bit of build up from calcium in it and not be letting the water through until the ball is moving. You might try removing the valve and soaking it in CLR or Vinegar. Just a cheap to do idea.

No adjustments to the flush valve BUt maybe yours isn’t seated in all the way in its mount on the toilet
If so then when you push the pedal the toilet seal opens before the lever makes contact with the toilet valve plunger tip as shown in this image

Although manufactured for two mounting screws in addition to the retention clips, usually only one screw is ever installed in the water valve holding it to the toilet. Adding the second screw may seat the valve body a little deeper and let the foot pedal actuate the plunger valve sooner. If nothing else works, maybe pick up a new valve, they are cheap enough to keep a spare anyone.

What Sunny said. We did have a toilet in one RV that the paddle had to be lifted. I don't remember the brand.

If you are from Bandera, take off your cowboy boot before flushing to give you more touch with your foot. Welcome to the forum!

It was one thing for my neuropathy to make it harder for me to drive my standard, but making it harder for me to flush my RV toilet was "beyond the pail!"

I have a Sealand/Dometic toilet. They have 2 way valves, lift the pedal to fill. Push down to flush
