Tail lights
I have a 2006 Cougar 5th wheel and the tail lights don't work. The front running lights work so it should be getting juice but the back running lights and tail lights don't work. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum
You need to start at the tail lights. Remove them and test the connections. Could be simply a bad ground, or loose connection.

Tail lights
The brake lights and turning signals work so can't be the ground.

I think you are talking about the clearance lights. Do you have a multimeter or a circuit tester light? Just because the front clearance lights work you can't assume the circuit feeding the back isn't interrupted by a broken wire or a wire chewed in half by a mouse.

I’m betting on a loose/broken wire or connection.

More mistakes are made when you immediately rule something out that you KNOW can’t be the problem..lol...I’ve done that many times and been burned by it...good luck and get out the multimeter

I have found many of my issues with lights and the bulbs has to do with broken bulbs/filaments and a poor connection. My suggestion is to check each light and each connection to see if you are getting juice. Also, use some dielectric grease or even petroleum jelly to lube the point where the bulbs are inserted to keep any corrosion from forming.

Harry, the OP has not been on the site for 6 weeks so likely figured out what his issue was or lost interest.

Couldn't just fix his issue so he went elsewhere.. wanted a definitive answer so that he could just jump in and get r done... Or something else happened.. either way...

Springdale running lights
2010 RL266. I have brake lights and turn signals but no running lights. TT has been on permanent lot for about 10 years. Where could I start?

The clearance lights. Take them out and look for corrosion in the bulb socket and wiring. 10 years without any preventative maintenance I’m guessing. If you don’t seal the base, moisture will rust all the metal.

It's possible after 10 years, the bulbs are simply blown out. Or as stated above, corrosion is the problem. Check the wires at each light and make sure you have power. Then replace the bulbs. If they are corroded, it might be easier to just replace each light fixture. They don't cost much, and you can find replacements at automotive stores, Tractor Supply Company, even Lowe's and Home Depot, Wall Mart (you might get lucky).
Make sure if you replace the light, you put a sealer under them so water will not seep in through the screw holes on the side of your camper.

If it's just been sitting for 12 years I all the lights need to be pulled and inspected. I suspect you will find corrosion in many/most of them. Bought an older trailer once and replaced every single fixture on it due to corrosion, rust etc.
