Hi all
I have purchased a 10 year old keystone Springdale 5th.
Tow vehicle is a near new Ford Ranger WildTrak 2.0L Twin Turbo 10 speed Ute. The bigger rigs in NZ have USA wagons but they are EXPENSIVE here.

Weights are what I would be concerned about. A tiny, 3/4 sized 1/2 ton truck seems really out of bounds. Maybe not in New Zealand? That trailer on that tiny truck just seems....problematic.

Hi
We tow up to 10m units with these short bed utes. All good... works well. Over that... the bigger USA trucks are utilised. My allowable Gross Mass is 6 tonne and I would run at about 5.7 tonne. We adapt within the law LOL.
with a country population of 5m our Motorhome and caravan club has 100,000 members. Lots of rec vehicles on the road here
Cheers

Welcome.... dumb question but where was the Springdale manufactured? Here in the USA in Indiana? They must cost a bunch more to get all the way to down under. Do any US RV manufacturers have plants overseas for foreign consumption?

Hi... not dumb at all...Most come from the US. No offshore manufacture. And yes the freight is pretty stiff but that’s the price we pay being so isolated.
Most of the 5ths are 8 to 10m but there are a few big rigs.
The club rally’s are well attended and motorhomes.. travel trailers ( caravans) and 5ths are big business here. There are Australian and New Zealand manufacturers making all types tho for our conditions and roads

I can imagine the freight is stiff. Thanks!
