2016 passport front indent

Hello. Any idea what to look for on a front cap that has an indent on the top left. No water damage or intrusion found. Seems like it was there when I bought it new in 2016 but I believe it’s getting bigger. Tried an auto body suction cup on it to pull out, but it goes back in. Is this normal ?
