Misleading advertising
While I am not trying to pick on Jeep/Dodge here as I believe all manufacturers do it, I find it disturbing that they make advertising like the one below that popped up on website I was looking at. I took a screen grab. If someone is looking to get into the RV market this could be devastating to invest this kind of money thinking they could pull any trailer. We all know the salesman would happily agree with the picture. although we all know there is a snowball chance in hell that a Gladiator could pull an Airstream like that. Ok that is my rant for the day.

If you think that advertising in today's environment is a "far stretch"... Look back at some of the "gimmicks" used in advertising in an era "before gullible people became the norm"....

John,
The scary part of your message is that I actually remember when the Olds Toronado was used to introduce the concept of a "weight equalization" hitch design. I believe it was published in Popular Mechanics and was quite the industry rave for a brand new concept! I remember my friends and I pouring over the article, very interested in "how did they do that?"!
If I'm remembering correctly, they actually did a "cross country" trip with this rig - something like Chicago to San Francisco without any rear tires. They chained the trailer to the bumper to keep the rig going straight. It was quite the deal...
ah, the good old days...

My perception is that Olds Tornado was a beast. Heck GM used that power train in that awesome GM motor home. What was it...a 455?

Yep. Not sure if the motorhome had the 455 or 454.

There was a high school teacher just before I graduated that operated on a different "plane" than we did. He bought a baby blue Buick Riviera (63 I think) and we hadn't seen anything like that...it was "weird". Right after sometime he bought a Toronado....same kind of weird we were thinking. My best friend was running a 57 BelAire; black with chrome accents...good looking car to a teen. I had a 56 Chevy Nomad w/283.
