my hitch to low in my 2016 silverado

i'm having problems when i back in my 2017 sprinter fifth wheel hitting the tonneau cover when i back in .
Its a 90 degree turn an my fold up cover keeps hitting my fifthwheel. Today it put a big scratch on my front camp.
The question is; what can i do besides remove it? i have a pull rite slider hitch since my truck is a 6.5 bed. Sharp turns rub the cover. In fact today it tore all the rubber off of it.
Also, the cover locks so i can keep tools and other items locked up, so i don't want to remove it when traveling with the fifthwheel.
Any help would be very apprechated .
Thanks
Randallf

Maybe post some photos of "EXACTLY" what you have, with a ruler or other "sizing device" that shows your current clearance, the tonneau cover height and how it's positioned, the hitch and pinbox and how they are adjusted, complete with which holes the bolts are in on both the hitch and the pinbox.

I have a Tonno-Pro trifold cover, a Ford F250 short bed, a Curt "NON-SLIDING" A-16 hitch and I've never hit the tonneau cover. I do have about 8" clearance between the truck bed rails and the underside of the trailer overhang. We routinely tow into some State Forest Campgrounds where the roads are "anything but level" and even then, we don't even come close to the cover or the truck bed....

Some photos of what you're facing would help us understand what your problem is and hopefully give us the information we need to provide some answers.

A friend of mine has a steel roll-up tonneau cover. It sits flush with the top of the truck bed sides and rolls up under spring tension into a box at the front of the bed that is about 10" square. Might be your best solution for your situation.

If your hitch uses the standard rails (instead of pucks), PullRite does offer higher rails that if memory serves are about 1.5"higher than standard.

Thanks for all the replies and suguesstions. I took my truck back to camping world who installed the hitch and they told me there is nothing they can do. They told me that the pull rite is 18 inches and dosn't come any higher.
They told me i could get a different hitch but it would not be auto slide. What a mess.
My tunnueau cover is all messed up on the left side, scratches all over my rv.
The only thing they said to do is takae your cover off
I'm not a happy camper

I have a tri-fold hard top tonneau on my short box RAM. When folded open it's about 5-6" thick. It was a non-issue on my previous 5er. When I bought the new Monty I gouged under the nose first time out in a sharp turn on sloped ground...didn't see it coming. The Monty rides high enough and is level but I can't use the tonneau when pulling anymore.

Different trailers with different nose designs = different results. Sounds like we're in the same boat. My only solution is a different tonneau or none when towing. Like you I like having it for the same reasons.

Roscommon has the right idea. Call Pullrite. Believe me, if there is one dollar to be made selling some kind of kit they will build it. Someone will have an adapter for your bedrails that will raise it 2".

Is there any way CW can lower the pin box on the 5er? That can effectively raise the nose and possibly clear the cover.
