No 12v power

My girl and I decided to live in a travel trailer off grid. Bought a 2006 Zeppelin ii z291 in very good condition from her former teacher. I'm leaning a lot but things come up a lot that are specific to our TT and this seemed like the best place to find the answers we needed.*

Right now we are battling a battery that won't ruin our 12v system. Bought a new battery, checked converter fuses and breakers and it looked good. Noticed something amiss on the blocks that connect to the trailer from the battery that first off they seem a bit rusty, secondly one of the screws that attach to it is not connected to the block but the wires are connected. Not even sure what that block is actually.

It looks like the battery was working when we first got it so not sure why it just stopped.

Thank you all in advance for the help and sorry if I'm a bit green here.

The block (s) you refer to in photo #2 are fuses and can be purchased at an auto store. Just be sure to get the correct amperage. They are not expensive so I would replace both. A coating of di-lectric grease will prevent the corrosion from happening again.

Hard to tell looking at the pictures on my phone but the one with the arrow pointing to it looks like the main one that the battery connects to and then on the other side it will feed the trailer. So if it's bad then no power will get through. That one is probably a 50 amp and the other might be a 30 amp. If you can get them disconnected you may be able to see their ratings.

Picture 2 are circuit breakers. Badly corrode breakers. Disconnect all the wires (including batteries) and clean the connections using a file or sand paper. Reconnect and spray battery terminal protector. If that doesn't work possibility a bad breaker.

Thanks everyone! I did a temp fix by cleaning off the bolt and the hole in the breaker and shoving it back down in there and presto! power.

Ok so I'll going to check out NAPA fire these fuses if not I'm sure Amazon will have them for sure. This has saved my fridge food, thanks again.

There is a battery side and a load side to those circuit breakers. Make sure you put them in in the right direction.

if you are as green as you say, get to an rv dealer and have them go over things WITH you. pay a few dollars to make sure it is right.
