Weight Distribution Drop Shank

So, on our family vacation last month to Florida I bit the bullet and upgraded from my Ram 1500 to a Ram 3500 Diesel. Boy, is towing the trailer nice with that upgrade.

I adjusted my WD hitch the best I could being 1200 miles from home, but I still need to adjust it further. I currently have a 6" drop shank for my hitch and I am thinking that I need something around 9.5" (top of receiver to bottom bolt hole). Has anyone found a drop shank around the 10" length that is designed for a 2.5" Class V insert? I can find them for the 2" Class IV, but if I can run without the sleeve around the hitch I would prefer it.

TIA!

Re: Weight Distribution Drop Shank

I had the same problem, I had a F150 and bought F250 with a lift kit. I need to drop the receiver about 8" or so I went to the Dealer and found a 15" drop and made the adjustment. What a difference it will make when you finally get it right...... Especially for me with a Toy Hauler I needed that weight back on the tongue and the new Shank dropped it low enough to put the weight back on the tongue.

Re: Weight Distribution Drop Shank

Looks like the Equal-i-zer shank will work for my application.
