Us MANLY mechanics use bottle jacks. More compact, and higher weight capacity. Back when I was rebuilding engines on a regular basis, I had to lift the front end of a 27' Winnebago chieftain. Axle had to be 29" off the ground for the 454 to clear it on the flat dolly I welded up.
My little 3 ton in the tool box doesn't even seem to take any space.

Try the floor jack. Mine wouldn't jack on the axle/spring u-bolt. You either jack there or on the frame and my floor jack, even though high lift, won't jack the frame high enough without placing it on wood blocks.

We had a blow out this summer. While my wife was on the phone I got out the 12 ton bottle jack and had the tire changed in 25 minutes. No fuss.

Rhino ramp
I spent $45 at Wally world and bought a pair of Rhino auto Ramps. Had a blowout in the Texas panhandle. Put the ramp down, backed the RV up, raised the flat off the ground, changed the tire and was done. Got a new tire in the next town, did the same thing. The tire tech was quite impressed.

Two bottle jacks, TireAid+, assorted 2x lumber, 4 way lug nut wrench, Dewalt 20volt impact, impact deep socket set, Harbor Freight torque wrench.

Are you telling me a bottle jack is that good? Where do I buy one? And ill stop carrying the 80 pound floor jack.

Probably the best place is a Farm store. Generally inexpensive, solid stuff or the local farmers won't come back. While a 6 ton is adequate, seems like there is little difference in price/weight to go up to a 12 ton model.

I have a 12 ton from harbor freight. It has lifted 37' Montana's and 27' Winnebago's since 2004. I've had a couple of 2ton longer.
Lots of harbor freight haters on here, but since I have operated my own auto repair business for over 40 yrs now, I can say what I buy isn't used infrequently, and the only failure so far was a ram for my engine hoist that I lent out years ago.

x2 on the harbor freight 12 ton. I have or had a variety of bottle jacks over the years, from 2 ton to 20 ton, and the HF seems to be as good as the others.

I just bought a 6 ton, with a carrying case, from Amazon, for $24.
