Winegard antenna delete

I've been battling a small issue with the winegard antenna, and since I don't watch tv, I want to remove antenna and plug the holes. Problem I'm having is, I can't seem to find a patch big enough to cover where the antenna is mounted. I need a patch approx 14"x18". The biggest one I've been able to locate is a 9"x10" by Dicor. Any other ways to go about this project? Thanks, Chris

Would I would do is just remove the antenna, leave the mount in place and plug the hole where cable goes thru. Keep it and at resale time you do not have a patched up roof, new owner could put antenna back on. Not sure if the handle inside can be removed without open holes thru roof. If so I would leave that there also.

pipedobber, Howdy;

Simply remove the arms from the base, leave the remainder intact,
as previous poster mentioned. Makes the trade-in / sale easier
when either event arrives. By removing just the arms and antenna
you leave the roof intact. You will need to do something with the coax
connecter (a wee dab of silicone perhaps???).

Thanks for the replies, hadn't thought about that. Having trouble with it leaking water. Researched and most common problem seemed to be quad seal. Bought the repair kit, upon removal of old parts, discovered there was no washer, wave spring or quad seal. Replaced with new and was completely confident problem was fixed. Next rain, I was again awakened by water, a drip instead of a stream. Was just wanting to remove whole thing as I don't use it. I can take arms off, but have to completely seal whole thing, probably making it useless in future to stop leak. It's not the roof itself leaking, can't figure it out.
