The heat element produces about 5000 BTU of heat. With the velocity of air moved by the A/C unit, it doesn't "feel" warm to the skin, but over a period of a couple hours, the inside temperature of the RV will increase significantly. Before you completely give up on it, try it for the "long haul" and you'll probably find the results to be satisfactory as a way to save propane in moderate temperatures and a way to augment the furnace on colder days.
