Cougar 333mks low point drains

I am getting ready to winterize, and under the bathroom/water heater area, there are what appear to be 2 low point drains. One red, one blue. I just want to confirm that this is what they are. Our other campers only had the one drain on the freshwater tank.

That's what they are. Red for hot and blue for cold lines. Don't forget to open the faucets.

Mine has as you say the red and white (or blue) but those are for the water heater, my main water tank drain is about 4' further back and on the inside of the frame. Drain them all, unless you are adding anti freeze then, turn the by-pass to close and drain only the water heater.

It's all winterized and ready for storage. Which makes me sad. Now we wait for 7 long months.

I feel your pain. I winterized last weekend, then towed our Cougar to the dealership to install the slide covers. Once we get it back, hunting season without water/holding tanks, then into the polebarn until Mar/Apr at which time we plan to escape to a warmer place until the snow melts and the green starts to appear.

Let's hope this year it won't be 7 months, but maybe only 6 ???? LOL

sad

Feeling really sad for all of you. We are heading to the beach in 13 days. I guess that's one good thing about California. Winter inland is the summer at the beach. Love it!

Sorry guys, headed to the beach at Rockport/Port Aransas in a couple of weeks. Down here we're just starting our 2nd camping season of the year.

I worked on winterizing this weekend. Was in the 30s this morning and snow is not far behind I'm sure!

My 280RLS must be different than any of my past campers as I had to pull the water heater drain(anode) to empty it. The lower water drains apparently don't drain the hot water heater (unless there is a magical valve which I'm pretty sure I won't ever remember). A bit of a pain but now I'm confronted with maybe pulling the anode in favor of a petcock valve.

Need help!

Getting ready to winterize my 233mks for first time. I can not see the valve that shut off fluid going into hot water tank. Also, my previous camper had a valve and hose that made it easy to pull fluid through. I am guessing I need to buy and add. Any step by step would be helpful! Thanks

Roger -
The two low-point water drains (one for hot, the other for cold) do not empty water from your HW tank. Almost all HW tanks have a drain plug that does not come with a built-in petcock so you have to remove the entire plug- with or without anode) - when draining the tank.

You are not missing any "magical valve".
