Hitch chassis fracture

I have a 2010 Sprinter Copper Canyon 273FWRET that I have towed successfully with a gooseneck hitch on a 95 Dodge Cummins (old ag truck) and now 2012 Ram... until now. The chassis extension at the hitch platform has fractured (see photo) and the gooseneck adapter is no longer vertical. Can this be welded, repaired and reinforced? What sort of RV dealer can manage this?

Don't know where you're located, but you need to find a welding fabricator/shop quick and close by. It might be best to get a mobile welder out to you with that type of failure.

Most RV service centers don't do "extensive welding repairs" on trailers with problems such as yours. They "contract out that kind of repair" both for legal reasons and because they can't employ a welder with that kind of skill/knowledge and keep him busy "full time".... It's cheaper for a dealer to just find a good welding/fabrication shop and refer all their welding jobs to that shop.

I'd call a couple of RV service centers and ask them who does their "big welding jobs"... you'll probably find that if you call several dealerships, the same name will keep popping up. That should give you a good indication of who to call "outside the RV service centers" to discuss your problems.

Without extensive welding experience, I wouldn't trust a "good buddy with a welder in his garage" to repair this kind of problem.....

Looking closer, I would suspect you have bigger issues than just those 2 welds failing. I wouldn’t have it repaired by anybody other than a certified welder after extensive inspection of the frame.
