Hello from SC soon to be Oregon

New member here, new to trailer camping, not new to RV'ing. Have had several motorhomes in the past and was also the Engineering Manager at Country Coach for a while. Have been camping for 40+ years.

We are Oregonians, (empty nesters) but have been in SC for 2 years helping with family business. Sold our motorhome before we left. Now moving back to Albany Oregon in November, it's "our home".

Taking delivery of a 2020 Keystone Bullet 291RLS in a week. This will be our home while the house is being built. Looking forward to hauling it around to our favorite campsites and taking the g-kids with us from time to time also.

Towing with a 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel Crew Cab 4x4.

Happy Trails

Brooks, welcome to the forum from Tennessee. I believe Albany is just close enough to the ocean and the big city to be handy, but on actually be a part of the hassle. Make sure you buy a WDH with the very best sway control money can buy. You're towing a mighty big sail for that truck!

Thanks and yes it is. Perfect location in the Willamette Valley. About 1 - 1.5 hours from everything, coast, mountains, forests, high desert, snow skiing, lakes and rivers, and just far enough away from crazy-weird Portland

That would be why I live here. With in 2 1/2 hours, I have the coast, a big City, the Cascade mountains and high desert on the other side of that. Welcome home, I was born and raised in Corvallis and now live in Sweet Home, just off Pleasant Valley road in the foot hills of the Cascade Mountains. Gods country, nuff said. Welcome home and check out Riverbend campground on the South Santiam.

Thanks, cant wait to get back. Have driven through River Bend CG many times but never camped there. We were also boaters and have been to Foster Lake and Green Peter more times than I can count. Lived in the Albany, Lebanon, Corvallis area for over 50 years.

Great place!

Welcome to the Forum... AND back to Oregon!

to the Forum. Lots of great people and plenty of advice here. Gonna be driving through Albany to see friends and check out a possible campsite for next year's 4th of July Campout tomorrow, even. Just got a new tow rig and need to put some miles on it to break it in before I pull my 5er with it.

Can't beat the outdoors and scenery in Oregon. Hope politics doesn't get you down, though!

Well, I stay out of the politics and its mostly the anarchists in Portland that cause the problems. Its hard to beat the Oregon landscapes.

What campsite/ CG are you looking at?

Had a great trip today to check out Old Miner's Meadow group site, up past Green Peter Reservoir. Loved the campsite for our group's 4th of July "Get away from the fireworks" campout next year. Love my new Ram 3500 even more now! Main purpose of the trip was to break in the new PU prior to pulling my Fifth Wheel very far.

We've spent many a day and nights camping and boating at Green Peter. Very nice area around there. In the old days, we'd load up the ski boat with our camping gear and find us a nice place on the lake shore and set up camp for a few days.

Did you happen to make to Rivers Bend CG just east of Foster on HWY 20. Its a nice CG on the Santiam river.
