Goodbye Dometic 300, Hello 310.

Remove that old nasty stinky 300 and replace it with a beautiful 310.

I'm glad you got it done. I think you'll find as I have that the Dometic 310 is light years better than any Thetford I've ever owned.

Thanks. Seems to be a far superior design than the 300. I was worried it wouldn't fit because I only had 9 and a 1/2 inches to the wall. But it fit perfectly, soft close and solid seat!!!

That was my concern when I replaced mine, but it fit with a little room to spare as well.

I replaced our Thetford with a Dometic 310 as well on our 2021 Passport . Far superior toilet .

Question for anyone who installed a 310 recently .........
Did your 310 come with "cover/caps" for the seat bolts ? They would cover the heads of the bolts that hold the seat on , in the back/top portion of the toilet .
Mine never came with any cover/caps , so the bolt heads are just in plain site .
Not sure if there are supposed to be caps for these .......or not ?

Thanks ......

Yes, there are caps to cover the screws.

P/N: 385311648 KIT, SEAT BRKT COVERS-WHT 300/310/320

The caps from your old 300 toilet seat will fit the new toilet. Or, any RV parts store can order them for you. Be prepared for a "heart attack" when you hear the price: $29.99 for the two caps !!!!!

If you bought the toilet new, I'd email Dometic and tell them the caps were missing. Chances are that they'll send you a couple if you ask.

Here's the PDF parts diagram:

Thanks for the parts diagram John . Yes $29.99 from Amazon !
The problem I have having is they do not look the same as I need . I know the parts diagram says they are , but the pictures (amazon, etc) all show a round cover . The ones the newest 310 use, are more of a halfmoon style that clip in to the notches in the toilet and arc down towards the seat .
The only image I can find of what I am looking for is in a youtube install video .
This is the style I need ......

At about 8:30 into the video , he installs the caps in question .

I am thinking of ordering the part number you listed from Amazon, and see if its correct . At least with Amazon, I can return it if not.

Thanks for the help .

Call Dometic, tell them they weren't with your toilet and to send you a couple. Mine came with them. Just snap in as I recall and looked just like those in the video.

Yes, maybe I will give that a try . Just have to find the correct phone number / dept .
BTW, they are a HUGE company , even taking over a good portion of the marine/boat parts supply chains ! Teleflex, Sierra , etc . We have many boxes of parts coming into our parts dept that have Dometic stamped all over them . Wow .

Great upgrade. I replaced the 300 in our last camper after only using it three time because of the smell.

According to the parts diagram "contact info" the phone number is 330-496-3211. That's the "Dometic Sanitation Systems Customer Service in Big Prarie, OH. Their email is: [email protected]

We have a 2022 passport 221BH with the 300. I measured 9 1/4 inches from mount bolt holes to the wall. I saw that one poster said 9 1/2 inches worked. Was there another 1/4 inch of room where the 310 may work for us?

I thought the measurement was to the centerline of the floor flange...they may be in line with the bolt holes, but I can say for certain. It should work if you have 9 1/2 to the flange center.

Here's a link to the instruction manual. Pages 3-4 give the rough in dimensions.
