Replace a non power vent with a 12v fan

Hi All,
I want to install a Maxxair (4000K) 12V Roof Top Fan/Vent in the bedroom to replace the manual crank vent (no fan) in my 2018 Cougar 310RLS fiver. Since this OE vent has no power I can’t just tap into the existing wires. The bedroom is also Pre-Wired for an air conditioner.

I pulled the beauty trim from the existing bedroom vent to gain access to the wires running in the void. I also opened one of the LED lights to see that it was pigtailed connected to a Green/White wire. I did the same thing to the bathroom vent/fan to see how the fan was wired. It too was pigtailed connected to a Green/White coded wire.

According to Keystone’s color coded wiring guide the Green/White wire is for 12 VDC interior lights.

Is it safe to assume that the green wire would be the 12VDC hot all the time wire? Is there a way to check to see if the green wire is always hot?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

You could use a test light that pierces the wire with the tracer. Turn off all the lights and if the test light lights, you found constant power.

Thanks Chuckster, used my multi meter to test and there is power when the light switch is off. Just waiting for the fan to arrive then it's install time!
