5th wheel rear living
Perhaps looking at a different camper. It is a ~30' rear living. The rear living area has one of the two chairs obstructed completely by the kitchen counter and the sofa in the slide is 90 degrees from the TV. How do folks with this type floor plan watch TV?

We had the same floorplan in our Springdale 242. Although it "looks like the counter blocks the TV, it is high enough that it sits "over the countertop line of sight" provided there's not something stacked on the counter. The problem we had with that floorplan was the "extremely large rear window" that was always "too hot in summer and too cold in winter".... We finally bought a sheet of plexiglass to make a storm window liner and just gave up on the limited ventilation from the two small bottom opening windows. It was impossible to sit in the recliners in summer or winter. Otherwise, I don't remember any disadvantages that we couldn't work around to make the trailer comfortable.

I personally don’t like that floodplain. Rear entry, all traffic passes right by the recliners. Poor TV viewing between counter and cabinet. Then there is the fact the only door is at the opposite end of the 5er from the bedroom.
I prefer a mid entry rear kitchen, most sources of fire are NOT between the bedroom and door.

Wife and I looked at the floorplan and pics and decided the positives didn't outweigh the negatives enough to where we wanted to spend the money. Guess we will stay in oiur camper which is a rear kitchen with a LOT of counter space.

Good to see not everyone likes rear living, gives me some hope in finding one used.

Look at floor plans with rear living/entertainment. That puts the kitchen in the middle and recliners and TV in the rear.

The floorplan I posted is a 291RLS but a couple years older than yours. My wife and I did the pros vs cons and decided to keep what we have; the floorplan has too many cons. The shower in the bedroom, lack or counter space and the door at the rear opening right in front of the chairs and television at other end of the cabin were all cons. Price on the camper we looked at was great though.

Our Copper Canyon has somewhat the same bedroom layout, and we like it as there is more room in the bedroom. It is also a rear Kitchen, with over 8' of open counter space not counting sink and range.

We've been inside several fifth wheels with that similar floor plan and crossed them off immediately. I suppose that's one reason why it took us over 25 years to make the change from a travel trailer to a fifth wheel. When we saw the front living room fifth wheels, we were sold! Finding the one that fit our wants took some time and patients, but we found it. Front living room, windows on all sides, opposing slides, front full window with the television that lifts up and down, two opposing couches that fold out to 2 beds, and theater seating directly in front of the television. Center kitchen with no island, residential refrigerator, a second outside door on the opposite side, and bed room in the rear on a slide.
Our previous travel trailer was an Outback rear living with opposing slides, seating in the slides and television in the back window that moved up and down. That set up spoiled us, so the front living room fifth wheel was about as close as it came to a match.
I know there are makes and models of campers for everyone, and everyone has different tastes, wants, and needs. But if questioning your specific floor plan, that means there is something about it you don't like, or question. Keep looking and look outside your "comfort" level and previous notions.

It seems to me that rear kitchens are not popular, we love ours for the counter space and traffic not passing through the kitchen.

This is my favorite RV we have ever seen. Rear kitchen with rear underneath storage.

It may be my next RV in a few years.

Gotta agree with Russ. We haven't found a floor plan yet that we would trade our rear kitchen for. Our layout also allows for pretty much full access without having to open the slide.
The fridge, counter tops, bathroom, bedroom and all the seating makes it nice for when we just want to overnight someplace without disconnecting or going through the set up process.

We really like the rear living, this our third.
We have looked and really liked the front living 5th wheels but always end up with the rear living area. The DW loves the large rear window and several of our favorite camping sites offer a great view out of the rear window.

To each there own . I never thought I would want one til I got one. I love the space. Our current one is 42.5' On a rainy day with three kids no one is tripping over each other. Space is always premium.

Oh yeah, my current camper is a 278EFS, a rear kitchen floorplan. Not sure where Keystone came up with the model as our camper is actual 28' 8" and what EFS stands for is anybody's guess. We have removed the dinette and replaced with an Ikea table w/2 chairs and the sleeper couch with a LazyBoy love seat recliner. The carpet in the cabin is gone except for in the slide replaced with vinyl plank flooring. In the floor plan, it appears you can walk around the bed but the original was an RV queen and mattress has been replaced with full residential queen so getting around is a squeeze. Oh yeah, chair is gone; wasn't comfy and space now is occupied by a 14K BTU portable A/C to augment the Dometic 15K BTU A/C on the roof.

My 313RS is just under 35 ft and we looked at a 30ft. I don't think we could have done the 30 we like the full size shower too much. I also like being able to shut the door while sitting on the pot. Well okay... the DW likes me to be able to shut the door

Our potty is in the room with the tub/shower. One of the negatives of a 28' camper is that if you have the bathroom as a separate room, the shower will be 2' wide. To get around that, we use an articulating shower rod and it ain't that bad as the curtain doesn't touch when I shower. I am wider than 2' in any direction. What I am calling a tub has a seat on the far end but I can't imagine why as a person wouldn't sit on the seat nor is there room to sit in the tub part I suppose. The sink is in the bedroom area. Missus wishes there was more counter as she clutters sink counters a lot more than me. Gals got to have their toiletry stuff!
