Water Pump Issues

We have purchased a 2015 28SGS this past December. Have a question about the water pump. We took it camping last week for 6 nights with full hookups, but did use the water pump to use up the fresh water in the tank for a couple of days then went to city water setting (the pump was turned off). All was good. Got home on Friday, and the water pump would not work. Did not work at all this weekend every time we tried it. Went out tonight and turned it on and now it’s working. Any ideas why it didn’t work for a couple of days.

You didn't play with the (much reviled) DC disconnect switch, I trust?

When you attempted to use the water pump at home, did you have the rig connected to city water? If you did, it likely was the city water pressure was higher than the cut-in pressure of the pump and that is why it wouldn't work. Later, the city pressure might have been down, and then the pump would work because the city pressure was lower than the cut-in setting of the pump.

LHaven, we did not touch the DC disconnect switch.

BobBecky, the handle was probably on CityWater when starting to add water to the tank since we had just returned from full hookups. We then turned the handle to fill the tank. Could this have caused the pressure buildup?
Thanks

You won’t make more pressure by turning the fill valve either way. When the pump was not working, did you have the fill valve turned to the city position? And did you have a hose still connected to city water with the water turned on to that hose? If you had both of those things that way, it is very likely that there was enough city water pressure that the pump would not come on because the pressure switch in the pump saw enough pressure from the city water that it could not turn on the pump. We have been in places where water pressure from the hose was all over the place, as bad as barely a trickle from the shower. So when we run into this, we turn on the pump, and if the pressure happens to be good, the pump does not run, but if the pressure from the hose drops, the pump will come on, even while taking a shower, it runs sometimes and not others.
