Skylight above bunk

I love the layout of our 28 ft 2012 Bullet. The only thing I can not get used to is the skylight above the the bunk. WWHHHHYYYYY!!! I have put up a light blocking shade but its still sooooo hot. Anyone have a solution?

Is that a vent or an actual skylight? If it's a vent, they make a covered foam "plug" for vent's, usually used in winter to add insulation and keep out the cold. Available at Walmart or RV parts outlets.

If it's a skylight I'd find some 3 inch foam and cut slightly larger and put in there. Should help with the heat.

It's an actual skylight. I will definitely try the foam. Thanks so much!

You can actually use a day night shade like what's in most of the RVs for the windows

If you remove the inside trim on the skylight you can put insulation between the two sections of the dome. I used the foil faced bubble wrap and it reduced the heat and light considerably.
