LED replacements

Has anyone found a replacement LED for the halogen bulbs in the 'can' light fixtures in the bedroom and over the stove in the Alpines (and others, I would expect)? They are a 12v G6.35 halogen bulb. They were tough enough to find replacement bulbs for in the first place and, now, I would like to replace 5 of them because of how hot they are.

I just searched Google on LED g6.35 on got hundreds of hits.

Yes but most are absurdly expensive. I am just trying to see if anyone has found something that work with a price they could live with.

I've replaced all the bulbs in the "regular" fixtures with LED's bought from this person. http://stores.ebay.com/duan-led2010?_rdc=1 Great LED's at a GREAT price. However, he doesn't list any G6 bulbs, but lots of G4's. I wonder if a guy could spread the pins the extra 2mm to make em work...

I had to replace one of the halogens shortly after getting the camper and used a G6.35 Halogen to replace it.

I went with warm for the interior lights, and white for the lighting in the basement, storage, and waterworks compartments. The only reason i went with warm for the inside is because "the boss" doesn't like the other color.

It took me a couple lights tho, to realize they MUST be plugged in the correct way to work. If you install and they don't work, rotate the plug 180 degrees in the bulb socket and re-plug in.

I couldn't be happier with the lighting, the quality, the price, the FREE shipping, etc. VERY good eBayer.

In looking at those, I don't see how they plug into the 921 socket. Also, how are they mounted? ..or do they lay loose inside the fixture?

They come with a couple of adapters that plug into the little plastic plug: T-10, BA-15, and Festoon.

They also come with some double-sided foam tape so you can tape them up inside a standard RV light fixture.

They don't quite work for your G6.35 needs, but they do work well for other places.

For the type that SteveC7010 showed, they are held in by the leads. They also appear to be the regulated type of LEDs which usually means "brighter and longer lasting". Usually.

I have not entered into this discussion because . . . Yes, I did replace almost all the lights in our Alpine with LEDs over a 10 month period. And we are VERY happy with the results. There was no loss of "brightness" (known as "lumens") and we mixed the Cool White and Warm White to give a near incandescent light spectrum. The only lights we did not replace were the decorative spherical bulbs above the bathroom vanity and the bedside make-up mirror. Oh, and I did not replace the incandescents in the basement - use for heating the basement. And I have plenty of replacement 912 bulbs now for the basement and our Volkswagen!

But they were on the expensive-side! SuperbrightLEDs.com out of St. Louis, MO. We know we paid more than what we would have received from China or eBay, but we are very happy with the result we got. They are regulated LEDs and are very, very bright! They require no mounting tape, no special holders, no silicon chaulk to hold them in place. These LEDs are probably not what everyone would want because of the price, but from the references and information, I doubt if I'll ever have to buy another LED for the Alpine! The SuperbrightLEDs.com LEDs come in a variety of models and LED content. We even replaced the reading spotlights above the couch and bed headboard with Warm White LED spotlights! They have a variety of bases on the variety of LEDs, so there were no adapters, etc. There are even LEDs above the kitchen island and in the entry way fixture.

Have you checked to see what the wattage these light are using.

I want to chance out my lights also.

LEDS always have have a lower wattage rating than incandescent. By virtue of that use less energy to run.

Google, led 12v, and you will come up with huge returns.

My bulbs are a RG921. You are saying the G4 LEDs will work in the RG921?

Different LED bulb. G4's don't work well in the T10 sockets.
