Question 31bhpr entry steps

Has anyone tried to replace the double step entry with triple step? I tried to order some online but they are 27.5 inches outside to outside. The welded brackets on the frame are spaced at 25.25 inches. Any suggestions?

I ran into a similar problem on my 5th wheel. One of the welded brackets holding the steps was bending (broke part of the weld). The replacement I ordered would not fit so I had to re engineer and brace the original steps.
My best thought is to watch ebay, visit dealers, take measurements of steps you like and may fit, and ask if they have any used steps. Who knows???

My 31 BHPR came with 3 steps and even at that we sometimes put a step on the ground to get to the 1st step.

Checked their website, the dimensions are still too wide for my brackets

Lance, I meant to actually call them on the phone and explain your problem. This is a very large RV dealer and may have an answer for you. Here is sort of the "motherland" of all RV parts. They also are very good to deal with.
http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/ But you are going to have to actually call them and talk to the parts guy/girl.

I can't remember ever seeing a three step folding set any narrower than 27". Most of the three and four step assemblies are pretty much "standard" and won't fit the narrower one and two step frames. You might be able to get someone to build you a custom step assembly, but have you considered a separate folding step to place under your current steps? Something like this is less than $40 and right now Amazon has two "used" ones for $20. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004804NV0...oding=UTF8&me=

I called Keystone customer service and was then referred to Tiara RV in Indiana. I have sent them my info and now waiting for a response. They asked for my VIN # so I think they know what to look for. I may just have to bit the bullet (pun intended) and continue to carry the exercise steps we have been using. Thanks for your responses, I'll keep you posted if I find anything. Lance

Tiara RV is the same company as Trekwood, one of the main suppliers of "surplus RV" equipment and parts. Their website is located in the links of RV suppliers listed on our forum at: http://www.keystonerv.org/forums/showthread.php?t=12986

Fixed the step problem! Ordered new steps made by Torklift International. Found them online at HItchSource.com. They are adjustable for different terrain and really work well. They bolted right in place without doing any mods!
