Shoe rack suggestion

We have a 'permanent' pile of slippers/shoes by the door (and I use the term 'we' loosely) and can't seems to find an idea for some sort of storage that will fit that area. I've search the web extensively and nothing seems to work. The photos shows 3 pair but it can be as many as 6 depending on the weather.

Any ideas?

Personally I would build a shoe compartment rack to fit between the slide and door. From the picture you posted I would assume you have about 12+ inches betwwen the door and slide. I would use some 1/4" or 1/2" plywood and construct a box measuring about 12" wide by 12" deep and what ever hight you would want. I would put shelves in about every 6 inches. On the upper shelves I would split the shelves into two compartments for the slippers and leave the larger shelves at the bottom for sneakers or dirty shoes. I would then mount it to the wall a few inches off the floor so it doesn't move and so the slide carpet will go under it and you wouldn't have to worry about moving it or it falling over when traveling or if it gets bumped.

If you want something a little more detailed just pm me and I will get a little info from you and then I can give you a more detailed discription and size for the design.

On our previous 5er, Montana 3400, I removed the grill on the front of the 1st step to the bedroom and just parked the shoes there. Have not done anything for the Alpine....yet.
