Saw a new product that helps prevent the clunking with hitches. Looks interesting. Go to www.GripSlip.net to see how it works. I might try it on my trip to Myrtle Beach next week. It would be nice if someone would post their experiences with this.

Looks like thick skateboard tape. If you watch the vertical movement on the rear edge of the slider, you can see the "before" is far more violent then the "after".

I looked up the "buy here" option for a standard hitch and they want $45!!!
I think I can handle the occaisional clunk at that price
