Aluminum Alloy?

Any body know the alloy of the aluminum that Keystone uses? I do, I was unloading half of a 53' trailer of aluminum today at our plant and I ask the driver where he was going with the rest and he said Keystone in Pendleton. When I got done unloading I looked over the bundles of extrusion going to Keystone. There were about 4 or 5 differant shapes and one I assumed was a stud wall, it was about 3-4" buy 1". I was told that the stud walls were narrow but I did not realize they were that narrow. All of the differant shapes were 6063-T5 alloy, I guess that is a good weldable alloy.

Does Keystone have a factory in Pendleton? Were these studs long enough to be the wall studs you think?

Bluewater,

Yes Keystone has had a plant in Pendleton for years and accross the freeway from them is a closed down Fleetwood plant. Yes the studs were long enough for walls. Some of the other shapes I have seen in the under storage compartment of my fifth wheel.

6063-T5 has good tensile strength and is pretty easy to weld. It's a common alloy for extrusions.
