Hi, my name is Jeanette. I am a first time trailer owner and super excited to learn everything I need to know. I have a Springdale 1790FQ. Small but perfect for me and my dog.

Welcome from the chilly Texas Hill Country! No one will believe you have a dog unless you post a picture of it.

Cute pup but the pup looks like it needs a doggy treat of a share of your breakfast. Those eyes say HUNGRY!

Haha. He is a rescue and is finally up to a good weight. He always wants treats and whatever I am eating. Don't let the eyes fool you. He gets plenty.

Oh, by the way, someone with a better memory can tell you why posted images show up sideways.

Welcome. The web site will always insert an image in landscape so if you take a picture in portrait mode it will present sideways. You can open a portrait picture in a photo editing app and rotate it 90° and then save it. You may have to add a block of solid color on either side to convert it to portrait. Hope this is understandable.

At times I actually miss a previous Jayco TT we had that was much smaller. Something about being cozy in a warm camper in the winter time appeals to me.

It's kinda funny; we get bigger and bigger trailers thinking it's "better". Like you, I do find myself thinking back at times to my first small, no slide trailer and how "cozy" it was. Back then it seemed like heaven and I took it places I would never dream taking the ones I've had later in life. Of course now I can't bend, contort and gyrate like I used to so some aspects might be more difficult these days.

Ha, just thinking back at our last smaller TT, a 21' Coachman. Yup, it was cozy and we loved it but at my current age and flexibility I can't imagine sitting at the dinette all evening watching TV or reading. I'll keep my recliner thanks.

Agree with that! When we bought our current trailer I had undergone 4 cervical spine surgeries, 3 shoulder surgeries, 2 arm surgeries, and a thoracic outlet surgery all due to a simple fall. Setting up and breaking down camp was getting challenging. At an RV show we found our camper. Electric stabilizers, electric tongue jack, electric awning. Those conveniences plus the outdoor kitchen made camping enjoyable again. Thankfully after 3 more cervical spine surgeries it's still enjoyable.

Without the outdoor kitchen I drug along a Coleman Roadtrip grill, an extra LP bottle for it, ice chests, containers with plates and utensils etc. Now it's unlock and open a large door to access a fridge, stovetop, storage cabinets and set the grill on the bumper and plug into the LP fitting.

I've camped with just a backpack & bedroll, tents, popup, hybrid trailer, etc. At this point in my life those memories will remain just that.

Greetings and welcome from SC. You will learn lots here. I was commenting to my bride after we
pulled the plug to get our fifth wheel. We are empty nesters and buy a bigger truck to pull a bigger camper. Enjoy!
