Ranfin, as a newby I'll tell you George was being kind when he brought up the disparity between your truck's capability HAULING that beast and the cargo capacity of your truck. The little sticker on your door frame probably lists your cargo capacity as being in the 2200 pound range. What George said is OTM with the 32-3500 pin weight number. After you subtract all the weight of your hitch, fuel, wife, kids, dogs, tools, gum and snacks in the cab and bed, you only have in the neighborhood of 1600 pounds of cargo left. Since MOST (not all) RV dealers will send you down the road hauling a Mobile Suites behind a Chevy S-10 I'm sure that Camping World hasn't brought that to your attention. And I'm sure that your ever so friendly Ford dealer told you that that 6.7 beast will 'pull the sox off a rooster!'
I'm not telling you not to do it, what I am doing is trying to somewhat tactfully tell you that you only have half enough truck for that RV. I know you and Momma are caught up in the moment right now. I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but I don't mind bringing a little shower your way.
Might I ask you to do this for the safety of your family and to show that George and I (and dozens of other members here) have just a modicum of good sense. As soon as you leave Camping World (probably your dealer?) go immediately to the CAT scale in Davenport and part with the $12.00 to get the weights on all three areas. A very simple action and it will make a world of difference in how you approach this purchase and your future with it.
By the way, welcome to the forum, and stop later this week and have an Imo's pizza on me. Tell 'em to put it on Jim's account!
