Fresh Water Treatment

Fellow Campers,

Back from a fabulous vacation and have drained water tank and H/W heater. I treated with a bleach solution as weather is beyond hot here in NJ.

My question, after sanitizing the water do you drain both the tank and H/w heater or can you leave the tanks filled with the bleach solution until prior to heading out on next trip after a month or so?

Any fee back would be appreciated. CB

Generally treat your water system before you go on your trip, not after. There is nothing in that water heater that will be improved by a solution of bleach. For that matter, none of your system should be left with the bleach in.
