garbage and recycles

We have been using tall kitchen garbage recepticals next to the door but it takes up the space I want to put 2 bar stools in. There is no room under the sink for much of anything. Outside is ok during the day but not at night. How does everone else handle garbage and recycle containers?

I take the bags to the collection point before I retire for the night.

Honestly we must not create as much trash, because we reuse the grocery bags in a small foot pedal lid trash can next to the entry door and stairs.

But we also figure we can use the exercise and whoever fills it, just walks to the park dumpster / other designated place, and tosses it immediately.

If we cook and have a lot of mess, it's after every meal. Which probably burns a whopping ten calories, but it's good not to just sit.

Howdy All;

I also use the shopping bags, put an old Sun laundry detergent container
and that stays on the counter till full (away from curious K-9 nose), then
walk it to the dumpster Monday on the way to the post office and Thurs.
evenings. If I get it to full in between ... I take another walk ...

For short weekend trips:
Garbage: We also use a small foot-pedal trash can. It holds small size bag or grocery bag. We empty every night, if not more often.

Recycling: we'll hang a grocery sack on the key rack to collect recyclables and returnables

For longer stays we'll set up the outdoor stuff:

Garbage: tall kitchen can with cover for all outdoor trash, mostly from meals at picnic table.

Recycling: we have 2 of those collapsible bins lined with clear plastic bag. One is for recyclables: paper, plastic, aluminum, glass. The other is for returnables: pop and beer cans or bottles.

There is no longer a place for local recycling, so we just bring it all home.

We have a covered tall kitchen container outside at the kitchen that stays there for the trip. Also for at night we have a small can under the sink that grocery bags fit in and a tiny can in the bathroom. at the end of the weekend we put it all in the one bag and drop it off as we leave. As for recycling, we are bad campers and toss everything for a weekend but will collect for a week with a bag tied to a tree or the bumper. For the weekend, wife says she recycles all week at home and does not want to worry about it while relaxing...
