6 Volt batteries

Wondering if some one has an answer to this question before I lay the coin out for a pair of 6 volt batteries, we dry camp in a permanent site, I have a 2000 watt Honda for charging batteries etc. My goal is to be able to leave my fridge on from sunday night when we go home till Friday when we return I will disable the Co2 system and try to eliminate any other amp draw I can find, solar power is not an option because of large trees on our site.

The batteries I am looking at are 242 AH each, would 2 of these batteries be sufficient to run only my fridge for 5 days? From what I can find online it seems that Dometic fridges when on propane draw about .5 amps per hour does this make sense? If the batteries are 242 AH each are they 482 AH when ran together in series? How many days could I leave just the fridge running assuming the amp draw is about 10 amps per day with these batteries?

ideal conditions --> 242ah/.5a=484hours or ~20days

No, in series you double the voltage (12v) and the current capacity remains the same on equal ah batteries.

Even in the shade you will get some benefit from solar power - greatly reduced but some nevertheless. I guess you have to weigh the cost and the benefits obtained to see if it is worthwhile and effective. Surely, there must be a "ray of hope" at sometime in the site..
